GENE KIERCE TO RUN FOR MAYOR OF SHELTON
AS DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE

For the past two years Gene Kierce has served on the Shelton Board of Apportionment and Taxation and has seen the present Mayor’s first-hand financial and political manipulation of Shelton.  His arrogant mis-management of the city has led to a serious deterioration of the city’s infrastructure.  His political manipulation of the police and ambulance, and now the fire department, is putting our family’s safety at risk.  Because of this, Gene has decided to run for Mayor on the Democratic ticket.  His leadership ability, governmental experience and computer expertise will make him an ideal candidate for Mayor in the century 2000 .

Gene is married with 3 children who attended the Shelton school system and has worked 34 years for GE/Black & Decker in the area of Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Systems management.

During that time he also was actively volunteering his time with the following: 

Political

Chairman of Shelton Apportionment & Taxation (AT) as part of Mike Pacowta’s administration (Presently serving a 2-year term)

Shelton Board of Education 
Curriculum Chairman- Established Ripton School.
Established computer classes with first computers in school system.
Finance Chairman - Purchased / landscaped White Hills park for possible future elementary school.

Civic Clubs

Shelton Senior Center, President
Volunteer Computer Instructor 1 day/week for seniors; 
Volunteer tax preparation for seniors/low income (requires yearly IRS training/certification)

SCORE - Service Corps of Retired Executives (Free small business consulting)

St. Joseph Computer Instructor- Grades K thru 4. (emergency paid substitute)

As you can see from the above activities, somehow Gene always seem be offered a leadership position within each organization.  With the help of many good, caring people, each of these organizations has been very successful.  Today he is going to need your help to reform Shelton’s present chaos into a smaller, more technically advanced and efficient (frugal) organization that serves you, the people, in a more timely and “user-friendly” basis.  Together we can do better. . . WE DESERVE BETTER!!
